Grading Guidelines
**PLEASE NOTE that Tests, Papers, Projects: 40%;
Daily/Homework, Class Participation: 60%**
A 93-100
B 83-92
C 72-82
D 60-71
F 0-59
Homework: Students are expected to turn in assignments the next day unless otherwise stated. The first day late will result in the assignment grade being dropped by 20%. The second day late a 50% grade will be given. If an assignment is turned in the third day or later, he/she will receive 0%. Special circumstances can be discussed at the discretion of the teacher and principal. Each quarter the lowest homework grade in each subject is dropped.
Assignment Notebooks: Your child will be receiving an assignment notebook to keep track of assignments. It is extremely important for your child to use it as an organizational tool. Assignment notebooks are expected to be used daily by the student. Checking on the daily work done during the day and what homework is expected will prevent missing assignments and your child from falling behind. All nightly homework will be highlighted in the assignment notebook.
Extended Absences -Unexcused

For extended vacation/absences, the school office and teachers must be notified one week in advance. Extended vacation/absences are not acceptable due to the disruption in curriculum and classroom instruction. These types of absences are not considered excused absences. Students are expected to keep up with work posted on class websites and Google Classroom.
All work will be given to the student upon their return. All work will be due 2 days after their return. Pre-scheduled tests and projects will be taken or due the day the student returns. All tests assigned during student’s absence will be taken 2 days after the student returns. Students are responsible for all missed work and must make up work within 2 days. Teachers will not give classroom work in advance. Teachers are not expected to re-teach material due to a personal
absence.
*It is strongly advised that students/families plan vacation and extended absences during the school breaks except for emergencies.
NOTE: It is mandated by the state and the Archdiocese that a specific number of days, 180, or hours, 1,098, must be accounted for in each school calendar year. Any days with attendance less than the designated percentage allowed, cannot be counted as curriculum days and will therefore be added to the end of the school year.
